The Optimus One was launched worldwide quite recently (less than two months ago) and within 40 days, it had sold a million units. LG is yet to announce the phone for India, but Flipkart already has the phone for sale at Rs. 12,999/- (Inclusive of taxes).

We are yet to get any hands-on time with the phone, so we’ll hold our full judgement till then, but there are two aspects to this phone that could considerably shake up the entire below-Rs.15,000 market for Android phones with HVGA screens – it reportedly has 419 MB of RAM, which is unheard of in this market segment and price, and it comes pre-loaded with Froyo, Android 2.2

So, for anyone looking to purchase a Samsung Galaxy 3, a Motorola Quench XT3 or a Sony Ericsson Xperia X8, we’d suggest that you pause and give this phone a look-over. It definitely may be worth your time, and money.
