Hasselblad - Phocus 2.6.6 and Phocus Mobile 2.0 release

Hasselblad cameras may have pricing aimed squarely at the stars, but their companion image-editing software is completely free. The software, which is available as a free download from the Phocus website, has just had its Mac OS X version updated to 2.6.6. To accompany this update, Hasselblad has also released the Phocus Mobile 2.0, which is available as a free download from the Apple App Store for both the iPad and the iPhone. This new release has some interesting features for owners of Hasselblad cameras, which can be used to remote control the camera using your mobile device wirelessly, apart from several other improvements listed in the press release available below.

The Windows version of the Phocus software remains at version 2.6.4 and does not have the new improvements that version 2.6.6 brings. We decided to take the software for a spin on our Windows PC, and it was a simple enough process to download and install. You may not own a Hasselblad camera, but you might want to try using the software to edit your huge collection of JPEG images, if you’re prepared for some serious editing. We’re stoked that Hasselblad is providing this software free, but then again, when your cheapest camera (the H4D-31) costs over 7 lakh rupees, we guess you’ll have some spare change left to release your software for free.
